Frequently Asked Questions We Receive For What We Do

  • What is Ultrasonic Body Contouring? What can I expect?

Ultrasound Cavitation is a new, revolutionary fat removal technique that has been used in over 50 countries worldwide and does NOT involve surgery – since it is painless, there is no need for anesthesia, any hospital stays or time off work. Ultrasound Cavitation causes microscopic air bubbles to surround the lipocyte (fat cell) membranes and with its resonant frequency, the bubbles create high pressure that causes the fat cells to break up instantly. The broken lipocytes are then removed to the liver and safely metabolized out of the body which is assisted by drinking plenty of water. It produces lipolysis of fatty acids from adipocytes (fat-laden cells) due to a phenomenon known as stable cavitation, and increased cell permeability of the adipocytes. You get an increased flow of triglycerides. Furthermore, there is a breakdown of the fibers through mechanical action (jet stream). Finally, some content of adipocytes are metabolized by the liver and eliminated in the urine, so it’s always recommended to increase your hydration both the day of treatment and subsequent days. The procedure works to remove superficial fat and fat accumulation that is non-volumetric. Greater results will be noticed after six to twelve treatments.

  • Is the procedure safe?

Ultrasound Cavitation is safe.  While it has only recently been introduced in the U.S., this procedure has been in use all over the world since 2005 and well over 100,000 people have been safely and successfully treated with ultrasonic cavitation in over 50 countries over the past 9 years.  Prior to 2011, only the well to do and celebrities could afford to travel to Europe to use this revolutionary new procedure to maintain and improve their appearance.  Since its introduction, here in the United States, it is still only offered on a limited basis, due to the high cost and limited availability of the advanced ultrasound cavitation equipment, required for the treatment.

  • How many sessions are needed to see results?

With the first session, you will decrease your measurements. Research has shown that most patients require 6-12 sessions to achieve optimal results. This will depend on the size of the area to be treated and the desired result.

  • How often can you get Ultrasonic Cavitation?

You can safely have a treatment done twice a week with a minimum of 3 days in between sessions.

Face treatments are safely done once per week with 7 days between sessions.

  • Are the results long-term?

The results are maintained when combined with exercise and proper nutrition. However, we cannot stop the natural aging that affects your appearance. For this reason, we recommend maintenance visits.

  • What does it feel like? Is it painful?

InstaSculpting doesn’t “feel” like much, but you will hear the procedure working in your ears. It sounds like a light humming because the sound waves are bouncing off your fatty tissues. Some of the wands of the machine warm-up or can cause a slight muscle vibration, but no sensations are painful or unpleasant.

  • What areas can be treated?

Abdomen, Flanks (love handles), Thighs,  Buttocks, Face (chin and cheeks), Upper arms,  Back (bra line),  Hips, Knees, Calves, Ankles.

Instasculpting reduces the body’s fat deposits that can be hard to get rid of by exercising alone.  It is best for small problem areas of localized fat.

  • Is there any downtime?

No, you may resume all normal activity.  We recommend you engage in exercise within a few hours of a session ideally!

  • How much weight can you lose with one session?

Typically, you can expect ¼ to 2 inches of fat loss after the first treatment.  The treatments reduce inches and contour body, they are not for substantial weight loss.

  • Why is Ultrasonic Cavitation different from other treatments?

Ultrasound cavitation is the most effective treatment for cellulite and fat reduction. Studies show that traditional liposuction does not treat cellulite. In fact, ordinary liposuction causes existing cellulite to appear more prominent. Ultrasound cavitation treats cellulite directly as well as the accumulation of fat, promoting smoother skin and reducing fat in selected areas. Ultrasound cavitation does not require hospitalization, anesthesia, needles, or any recovery time.

  • Who is NOT a good candidate? What are the Contraindicators?

Individuals with cancer, cardiac and vascular diseases, pacemakers, and women who are pregnant, or breastfeeding should avoid this treatment during that time. Your personal physician’s certification may be required with certain individuals. Women experiencing their period should skip treatments during the time of menstruation.

  • What can I expect during my first appointment?

Your Introductory Treatment with Consultation will include education on the treatments and technology, thorough consultation to ensure we understand your goals and lifestyle, treatment on your single area of choice, measurements, results, and recommendations will be covered, and package pricing given based on personal recommendations.

  • What do I need to do post treatment?

    1. Drink approximately 64 oz of water minimum during the day of the procedure and two days following. This will ensure proper hydration and facilitate the metabolism elimination of the lipids and triglycerides that are broken down by the ultrasound treatment.
    2. After the treatment, spend 15-30 minutes in any type of physical activity. This can be a cardio or an isolated workout in the area that was treated. This will help the metabolism and elimination of the disintegrated fat cells in the treated area. Following this protocol will ensure that you achieve the optimum results for your ultrasonic cavitation therapy.
    3. Eat clean, healthy, and nutrient-dense food. You will want to avoid any fatty foods or additional fat for the day of and the day after treatment. Minimize sugar and avoid processed food.
    4. Avoid eating one hour before and after each treatment.
    5. Avoid alcohol before treatment and for two days afterward. The metabolism of alcohol will inhibit the metabolic breakdown of the disintegrated fat cells and impede the elimination of fat in the area treated.
    6. Limit caffeine to 8 oz per day for the day of and day after treatment.
    7. Massage the area/s treated for approximately 10 minutes shortly following the treatment. This will help stimulate the metabolism of the disintegrated fat cells and further enhance lymphatic drainage and elimination of the fat in the treated area.
    8. **Radio Frequency Face Treatments ONLY:  Make sure you stay out of direct sunlight and wear SPF for at least 24 hours after treatment.
